I write fiction with speculative elements set in the near future, led by ordinary women confronting extraordinary threats.

I’m an emerging novelist: my long form nonfiction has been featured by Salon, Terrain, National Public Radio, and others. I earned an MFA in nonfiction at Iowa State University’s Creative Writing and Environment program, where I also studied fiction with Benjamin Percy, Dean Bakopaulos, Debra Marquart, and K.L. Cook. My writing has been supported with a scholarship by Bread Loaf Orion. I help herd the cool cats at r/Books, a Reddit community of nearly 24 million readers. When I’m not reading or writing, I’m a studio artist, wildlife photographer, and off-trail hiker. I live in Colorado with one good dog and four bad cats.

I’m here to celebrate my favorite authors and help other emerging writers by creating and sharing the resources I wish I’d had earlier in my career. Stay tuned!
